Safer Internet Day 2017 and Safer internet week in Lithuania

On the 2016 7th of February national Safer Internet Day event will take place in the Crown Plaza Vilnius hotel.

The event ‘UNITE!' will focus on 5-6th grade pupils and their teachers and parents – up to 200 participants at all. The activities for the pupils will be arranged in 4 parallel sessions proposed different activities with a focus on the Safer internet: robotics, improvisations, photography, brain ring.

Another target group of this event is adults. At the same day, representatives of the Helpline, telecommunication provider Litnet, Safer internet ambassadors, eTwinning will share their experience with the teachers and parents how to use internet in a better way. Youth panel members are going to present Lithuanian version of the European Youth manifesto – 10 most innovative ideas and recommendations with the photos.

During the SID event Youth panel members will works as the reporters of the event, accompanied by Youth Panel coordinator as during the SID 2016. Youth Panel SID2016 video reportages (watch).

The professionals will film the event moments as well. After the event, the movie will be accessible to watch for everyone interested.

One of the events planned on SID 2017 will be the Round table discussion about the Strengthening national cooperation within the Safer internet project in Lithuania. The representatives of current project Consortium members, Advisory board and Steering committee members are going to participate in this discussion.

The news about SID2017 and Safer Internet will be promoted during the Safer Internet Week (February 6-11th) as well:

Events include:

  • Safer Internet Week activities in Public Libraries;
  • Professional volunteering initiative’s “Kam to reikia!?” workshops in schools;
  • Promotion campaign of e.Safety Label;
  • Campaign “Safer Internet Week in my School”.
  • Safer Internet Centre representatives will take a part in TV and Radio programs on Safer Internet Week.
