Safer Internet Day 2015

On 10 February, the international Safer Internet Day, a national conference "Challenges Faced by the Safer Internet Centre and Results of Its Activities" will be held in the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (Studentų g. 39, Vilnius). Teachers, social pedagogues, psychologists, heads of educational institutions, and representatives of organisations working with schools are invited to the conference.

The Safer Internet Centre (SIC) and its partners invite you to take part in the activities of the Safer Internet Week that will take place on 9-14 February 2015. This year’s events include:

  • 9-14 February. "Langas į ateitį" (Window to the Future) association and TEO, the Lithuanian telecom company, invites Lithuania's libraries to take part in the Safer Internet Week's activities designed for adults, children and youth. At the libraries, you will be able to watch educational movies, take knowledge tests, and take part in competitions and lectures on safe online behaviour. Please visit your local library in February for more information about the activities.
  • 9-13 February. The professional volunteer project "Kam to reikia!?" (Why Do We Need This!?) will be held as part of the Safer Internet Week for a second time, offering teachers and pupils an opportunity to invite professionals to their schools to discuss the current issues of internet security.   • 11.00 a. m. 9 February. Jolanta Totoraitienė, Chief IT Specialist of the LITNET KTU Technology Centre, will host an online seminar "What is a good website? Ideology of Simplicity". Web consultant's advice to website developers: website concept, design, creative process, testing etc. The seminar is designed for those who want to develop an informative and secure website.
  • 9-13 February. Safer Internet events at your school. We invite teachers to organise Safer Internet events at their schools. Publicly available material will be provided to teachers to help them host events at their schools. Teachers who register their events will be issued with certificates and notepads and receive information on all SIC activities and trainings for safer internet ambassadors at schools.
